The film follows John Crenshaw as he accompanies his girlfriend and her students on a weekend nature-photography expedition deep into the woods. 2150 A.D. The crew of The Essex, a spaceship, is finishing the last harvest mission of the season in the deep space when they encounter a big creature called Tin Lung. One of those is supposed to have killed the father of the captain. They have no intention of following him, so they head home. But after a while they are boarded by a crew of pirates that leave them with nothing, so in a last attempt of not returning empty-handed they decide to chase the creature they just saw.
