Directed by Risto Orko, and written by Risto Orko and Ilmari Unho, «Aktivistit» (also known as "Activists", "Aktivisterna") is a 1939 Drama film . Helena Kara is starring, alongside Tuulikki Paananen, Uuno Laakso, Ville Salminen, Tauno Majuri and Paavo Jännes.

The clear starry sky shimmers above the fresh of white snowdrifts. Under the stars and the snow above Helsinki vuorineuvoksetar Kristine Bergman wants to discover the Lapland wilderness, and guide them he gets a forester by the bog. Kristine interest in Lapland stems from deep within, and he do not like the fact that he was compartmentalised shallow right away hepsankeikaksi.

The story is based on the novel by Jalmari Finne and features real historical figures Arvid Tandefelt and Brita Ekestubbe as protagonists. In 17th century Finland, the young Arvid is forced to marry the little Brita but their ways soon part when their respective fathers move to different places. Years roll by and Arvid (now played by Olavi Reimas) grows up into a handsome and respected Thirty Years' War veteran known for his excellent fencing skills.

She works hard, never loses her common sense, and starts taking evening classes. Keeping her studies secret from her employer for years, she eventually graduates from the university and becomes candidate in the parliamentary election, stressing women's and working people's rights. Romance with Judge Soratie finally ensues.
