The two chaotic cops Docker and Dretzke are given the task of observing an apartment in which the State Criminal Police Office suspects a drug trafficking center. Both are forced to do the thankless night shift. When Docker falls in love with the barmaid Wanda and proudly tells her about his job, the entire operation threatens to be exposed. Now the two have to clean up the mess they've caused, and in the process they come across a hot trail that leads directly to the LKA Düsseldorf.

In the police canteen, Docker is spied on by the BKA for a special secret mission: an attack is planned on an Indian maharajah during his visit to Germany. In Operation “Falscher Hase” Docker is supposed to serve as convincing personal protection.
