The film is set during 1962 in Sevastopol, Crimea, then a secret Navy Base in the Soviet Union. General Serov (Stupka) hires Viktor (Petrenko), a cadet from the Kremlin Guard to work as his private chauffeur. In a jet-black "ZIM" limo, Viktor is chauffeuring the General's disabled daughter Vera (Babenko). Two inmates escape from prison and decide to hide in children's summer camp pretending being mentors and swimming instructors.

Four friends are forced to stay put in a radio station on New Year's Eve after one of them gets into trouble. They use the opportunity to remember the past, talk about women, music, and decisions they had made throughout their lives.

At the beginning of the war, the Germans abandoned their saboteur in the USSR. The landing is unsuccessful - the spy is captured by the NKVD. When trying to escape, the saboteur, who turned out to be a Russian thief in law, accidentally remaining in the occupied territory, dies.
