Yoshitoshi Abe

Rakka, a young girl with no memories of her past, hatches from a cocoon in a walled, peaceful town inhabited by charcoal-feathered beings known as Haibane. As she adapts to her new life and learns the town's strict rules alongside her companion Rekka, she must unravel the mysterious nature of her existence before her time in the city comes to an end.
