The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014) - Rated 17 Feb 2026
Obviously overproduced and tonally all over the place. Skips between comedy villains and tragic enemies, plot line meanders at first, then is abandoned later on. Gwen's death is an excellent scene, but feels like it comes out of nowhere in a movie that's far cheesier for most of it's runtime. Not actually a bad movie as such, and visually excellent, but obvious why it ended this particular Spiderman run.

Warcraft (2016) - Rated 16 Feb 2026
Actually sort of watchable, but ultimately very forgettable. No one feels particularly bothered about their characters, and much of the movie is spent on fan-service.

Man of Steel (2013) - Rated 16 Feb 2026
Cavill is offered as a sacrificial lamb here, he looked the part and was clearly invested so I assume almost everyone else involved couldn't give a shit. Superman stories are always hard to make interesting, but turning Clark into a mopey depressive and Pa Kent into a selfish paranoid meant it wasn't even enjoyable to watch. Michael Shannon did his best, but obviously realised that scenery chewing was the only option left. Zimmers soundtrack is the only thing that will be remembered.

The A-Team (2010) - Rated 16 Feb 2026
Can't even remember the plot, but there's a few good scenes and jokes. Bog standard action movie, would be totally unmemorable if it didn't have the A-Team branding.

The Woman in Black (2012) - Rated 16 Feb 2026
Harry Potter and The Woman in Black, Jumpscare Edition. Luckily Radcliffe found more effective films later on to break away from the Potter shadow, cause this sure didn't do it.

The Revenant (2015) - Rated 16 Feb 2026
I only finished watching this as I happened to be in a theatre with friends at the time of release. Blatant Oscar bait, although I can hardly fault Leo for that since he'd earned one well before this. Just two hours of pointless agonising misery, it got Leo his statue, but the audience gains nothing.

Now You See Me (2013) - Rated 16 Feb 2026
An impressive start but can't quite stick the landing, the ending feels fantastical rather than clever, and makes the rest of the movie feel childish now in comparison.

John Wick (2014) - Rated 16 Feb 2026
Unapologetic and solid action revenge movie. Been discussed a million times over how this is a excellent example of 'show, don't tell' filmmaking. Reeves' trademark wooden delivery is taken advantage of, and used to give Wick a believable 'killed bigger than you and lived' energy that the other cast can clearly feel whenever they encounter it.
