Indians haunt your horror movies. We are the text. We are the subtext. We are the shadow lingering around your happiness. Our tragedies become your curses. Our sadness becomes your death and pain. Our disasters become your disasters. I have grown quite a fondness for these low budget, usually SOV, but sometimes 16mm Indian horror films (stuff like the cellar, or Blood Shack or even Winterbeast [indian imagery suffocates the film]) in the same way I’ve loved westerns my whole life.

Some beautiful shots of flowers in this. Liking it the more time I let it sit. A terrific documentation of generational divide

Videophobia (2019) - Rated 10 Oct 2026

Horror filmmaking for a modern world. Detached and pessimistic. A cold, but beautiful film about the horror of the world we’ve created, or allowed to be created. Where we’ve allowed our privacy to be eroded to the point that anyone you see in public could know about your secrets and life.
