The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (2013) - Rated 24 Nov 2016

This movie has a lot of awesome action scenes and the fighting is truly exciting. The scenery is amazing, the characters are generally likeable, and the film as a whole is entertaining. The movie escalates quickly towards the end, with a really cool chase scene with Smaug (who also looks great by the way). My only negatives are that the film is VERY long winded (it's over 3 hours long), and it ends on a cruel cliff hanger (as Smaug is flying to the city, very annoying), but overall, a good film.

Pokémon the Movie: Hoopa and the Clash of Ages (2015) - Rated 19 Nov 2016

Everything happened far too quickly and the film had no depth or real story. Simply put, it's just another generic city destruction movie, except it's toned down to be kid friendly so there's hardly any truly exciting moments. There are some cool parts, like seeing all the legendaries in the same place. That on its own is pretty nice. The animation is stunning and parts of hoopa's backstory are slightly interesting too. Unfortunately, it's let down by the actual plot feeling very lazy.
