Bio: Ratings meaning -90 favorite 80 excellent 70 good 60 ok 50 meh Under 50 bad Quite a few of the 0 scores are because someone involved did something I'm not comfortable supporting, i might revise these back to take the creator into account less, I'm not sure yet. Faviorite elements of movies tend to be - relatable nonbinary or female protagonist - slow landscape shots and thoughtful, quiet moments - action and car chases or races. I do not usually like "gritty" or drab films but do not mind bleak films Black Lives Matter - Trans Rights - Climate Action Now

"Haven't read the book. I loved Twilight which inspired this. A fantasy about being wanted."
68 83% The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady (2023) - Rated 24 Feb 2024
"Still waiting for the perfect sapphic romance anime. This one is pretty good, but: - Odd changes in how cuddly/comfortable with each other they are; not at all for a while in the middle - Plot threads out of nowhere - Some consent issues made it less enjoyable for me - SPOILERS: Major conflict at the end just sort of gets... hand-waved away? Despite inducing absolute existential dread, which had the characters in tears half an episode before? Seen 12 eps. Would rate maybe 55 or 60 if het"
68 83% Warrior Nun (2020) - Rated 20 Feb 2024
"Watched through end of season 2. It's like The Da Vinci Code books, but with ninja nuns. Nunjas? Also it's somewhat gay. I liked a lot of it, though it dragged a bit sometimes. (Not being a fan of miracle cures aside.) Sometimes hard to see/hear due to the color grading & sound mixing. It's somewhat less silly than it sounds, besides the premise. It was cancelled, so the ending feels a bit sudden. SPOILERS: it’s not queerbait, but I want more of them together; the abrupt ending cut it short"
55 60% Kasimasi: Girl Meets Girl (2006) - Rated 18 Feb 2024
"12 eps + 1 ova. Frustrating. Parts of it are really brilliant, and it’s often great at creating a particular kind of mood that reminded me of Haibane Renmei. Lots of sexual assault-based humor I didn't enjoy. There’s some bad implications about love and disability, & frequent misgendering. Be forewarned it’s ambiguous but was something I took as seriously presented implied lasting effects of serious childhood trauma that really threw me. Skip ova unless you hated series ending."
60 68% The Maltese Falcon (1941) - Rated 18 Feb 2024
"Pretty good story; solidly entertaining. The treatment of women does it no favors. Enjoyed the sets."
70 89% Unicorn Academy (2023) - Rated 14 Jan 2024
"Seen 3 eps. Watched the first episode where it's split up as a two part movie that's free on YouTube. Wholesome, comforting, inspiring, fun. Watch this on my phone before I even woke up properly while hugging a stuffie is the perfect start to a day I don't have to be at work to slow down my anxiety from racing away"
60 68% The Spiderwick Chronicles (2008) - Rated 30 Sep 2023
"Memory of the books is loving the aesthetic but frustrated by missed potential. The movie is consistent w that: besides some goofy character designs it's visually gorgeous, with top notch props, sets, shot composition, colors. But the characters are insufferable for most of the film. I don't like protags being unkind. If the film were just "softer" overall, I'd love it. [SPOILERS] I hated the action scene toward the end since pretty sets got wrecked. Unnecessary! Parts reminded me of Time Trap."
50 51% CSA: The Confederate States of America (2004) - Rated 16 Sep 2023
"don't remember it well"
40 36% What Happened to Monday (2017) - Rated 16 Sep 2023
"This wasn't really for me. Too "gritty" seeming. Couldn't care about the romance, probably just because "sexually harassed by cop" isn't a particularly appealing meet-cute to me. Reminded me of the movies The Matrix and Banlieue 13 and the book The Giver. Also was this like, low-key anti abortion or am I reading too much into it?? I'm probably reading too much into it"
65 77% The Tomorrow War (2021) - Rated 15 Sep 2023
"Entertaining as I recall (don't remember it that well)"
