Bio: Ratings are my subjective enjoyment. Low ratings not meant as hate, just my taste. If you like something I didn't, I'm still glad you found something in it. Some of my minireviews contain labeled potential spoilers, though I do try to write what I'm saying as vaguely as possible since there's no way to actually hide them behind spoiler tags. Some older ratings and reviews I ought to update but haven't yet. My tastes and gripes have changed over time.

No Time to Die (2021) - Rated 19 May 2025
"OK, but lacked tension and dragged a bit. Kind of irritating that the villains in these all have face injuries. Some nice shots and action sequences."

"Bond fights Hydra. Having seen two of these now, my perception is: Buildings are always made of explosives, Bond only interacts with women by seducing them, and Q reminds me of a puppy."

"Alright as a movie. The characters, though, are emotionally immature to the point of being a bit frustrating to watch for me. (Except Landon, who seems fine.) I haven't read the books."

"A lot of really lovely shots and some creative color grading. At first some of the more "Hollywood" set choices were pulling me out of the story a bit, but I got into it pretty quickly."

"DNF, I cannot stand the way these characters are written. Also the musical numbers are painful. This is NOT the dark fantasy one from 2011, this is a spoof musical. I checked out around the time I got to the levitating gospel singer doing yoga. The green screened live characters on cartoon backgrounds is kind of creative."
Epic Movie (2007) - Rated 13 May 2025
"Sometimes mean-spirited humor, but I expected that for a 2000s movie. Not nearly as bad as I expected. Got a few laughs, and it was kind of nostalgic with all the references."
