just finished season two. While i found the dynamic between jinshi and maomao enjoyable in the first season, the degree of jinshis possessiveness and his willingness to become physical and restrain maomao is kind of putting me off. i love the way characters' peculiarities are respected in this show, especially between my two favourite gays, shisui and maomao, who are endgame to me - maomao clearly has more adoration for shisui and seems to care for her more deeply and intimately than she does for jinshi. i have my doubts as to whether maomao and shisui will be canon, since shisui seems to have fucked off to the west, but in my heart they are soulmates and romantic partners
