An excellent distillation of Gundam-style giant robot war stories, with a focus on the intersection of the personal with the political, and the additional element of "the bad guys have fantastical super robots but the good guys only have mass-produced war machines, so how do we win anyway". It has a strong ethos, an openly neurodivergent main character, lots and lots of strong and cool and fun and interestingly traumatized girls, and fits a lot into 24 episodes. A good intro to the genre!
