As the viewer you don't take much notice when Lewis Mumford begins this film by talking about the spirit of the Brooklyn Bridge. But when it is revealed that the designer of this feat of engineering, John A. Roebling, was a favourite student of Hegel, then the meaning of 'spirit' takes on a more defined form. Burns did not have to mention the Hegel link, but he did (on purpose). Relatedly, the more Mumford appears on screen, the more he resembles Heidegger!
