Benito Mussolini and his lover, Claretta Petacci, last night together locked in a small peasant cottagen dramatised. Claretta was the only woman with him when they and a group of supporters were captured by Communist partisans during an escape attempt. It is disconcerting to see a young sexy Helen Mirren play a submissive role when you are used to seeing an older one boss men around (Detective Tennison, either Queen Elizabeth etc.) - but she was just as great an actress then.
