In 1972, a historical ice hockey series is arranged between Canada's top NHL stars and the best of the Soviet Union. Though they've met at the amateur level before, most of Canada is smugly convinced that the Soviets will be no match for the pros. That is, until Team Canada is soundly trounced in the first game by the skilled Soviet team. This docudrama follows the entire Summit Series, as Canada fights to claw back in a series that would change Canadian hockey's self-image and history forever. (Kenneth Chisholm)
