A movie critic who became one of the major filmmakers of the Nouvelle Vague. Over the years, Godard's existentialist Marxism lost the luster it once had, but his work of the 1960s is still considered part of the canon of great cinema.

A scathing self-critique by Jean-Luc Godard about himself, criticising his involvement with television. If you know some of his background at this time, even the slightest of things, it is a very thoughtful analysis by a director about themself; I only wish more filmmakers would openly show these thoughts through film as much as Godard does.
