In 1944, despite declining health, Franklin Delano Roosevelt (Jason Robards) decides to run for a fourth presidential term while World War II begins to draw to a close. This account of his final year follows the president's involvement in D-Day planning and his meetings with Joseph Stalin (Nehemiah Persoff) and Winston Churchill (Wensley Pithey).
