Season 1 - Gordon Ramsay takes aspiring young chefs and sees how well they can cook for a functioning restaurant in Los Angeles, particularly in terms of dinner service. A contestant is eliminated each week and the winner receives, in addition to money, a choice between being an executive chef at a major restaurant or an apprenticeship with Ramsay.
