A generally tasteful and rigorous version. While I appreciate the completist aspiration, I do think that the time it spends on the Lowood School part of the novel, at the beginning, is a little neither-here-nor-there; when we switch to an older Jane at Thornfield Hall, it retrospectively seems a bit superfluous. Otherwise it's quite well paced and a lot of Bronte's artificial but clever dialogue shines through. Susannah York is merely adequate, but George C. Scott is good as always.
