Sizzling documentary which explained what Philby actually did, the drama of his press conference denial, and why the government were happy (allowed?) him to escape to Moscow. Macintyre is a fine historian of the obscure detail of war but I was not so sure of his actually becoming the presenter on film. Well no doubt he was brilliant here - he presents what an English toff does in shady Istanbul bars because he himself is an English toff at home in shady Istanbul bars!
