Lions, he explains, are in crisis - they could die out in the wild in under ten years. Filmed over three years, the footage of orphaned lion cub Mugie tumbling about like a puppy is charming, and it's clear that Clunes is besotted. But Mugie is not a pet and this remote part of Africa can be dangerous - for both humans and animals.
