Biopic of Meldrum's formation of the COUNTDOWN program is affectionately produced, but Meldrum himself is perhaps not an ideal subject, presenting as an affable enough personality, but lacking the sort of distinctive drive or personality to sustain a feature length presentation, let alone 3 hours. There is interesting subject matter here, especially as it relates to Aussie media culture in the 70s and 80s, and Johnson does a commendable job as Meldrum, but the focus should have been wider.
