Low key, enjoyable excuse to see Guinness and McKern having a blast together like two knights of old; may not go anywhere particularly enthralling or unexpected, and suffers from an occasionally too leisurely pace, but the good-natured performances, and even low impact philosophising between Guinness' man of the cloth and McKern's miscreant, makes this worth seeing. An unexpectedly amusing trip to the cinema at Guinness' urging is arguably the comic highlight!
