A nice balancing act of the personal and political; as presenter, Kielty maintains just the right tone of cheeky irreverence to balance the quite sad (and tragic) overview of political violence in Ireland circa the 80s. Managing to maintain a positive and proactive view of ultimate reconciliation, while delivering a first-hand and moving account of his own life tragedy as a result of the violence, this is a quietly impressive work, that might have been even better fleshed out to feature length.
