Continuation of the saga is less ambitious than its predecessor, but also has fewer pretensions, happy to putter along as the vintage TV mini-series it is. Recasts from Part 1 are largely beneficial, with Voight and especially Hershey seeming more at home than Jones and Huston before them; in his brief scenes, Reed all but steals the show as the ambiguous, enigmatic antagonist. As before though, there is really no need for this fairly simple story to take 5 hours to tell.
