Henry Kenneth Alfred "Ken" Russell is an English film director. He is known for his pioneering work in television and film and for his controversial style. He has been criticized as being over-obsessed with sexuality and the church. His subject matter is often about famous composers, or based on other works of art which he adapts loosely. Russell began directing for the BBC, where he did creative adaptations of composers' lives which were unusual for the time... (Wikipedia)

Another beautiful Ken Russell short. Russell seems to be just as interested in the creative process--and what feeds it--of other artists as he is in his own, which I think accounts for his extraordinary movies about other creative artists. That which is disappearing holds special significance for him, as well as the understanding that by giving the past loving respect, it enriches our present and future. All this--and the incandescent Shelagh Delaney--is here in this lovely 15-minute short.
