Opie the Birdman (1963)

After Opie accidentally kills a mother bird with his new slingshot, he takes on the job of raising her babies himself. He grows very attached to them, but then has to set them free when they get big.

A visiting preacher tells the town to relax and enjoy the simple pleasures of life. He inspires everyone to have an old-time band concert. With all the stress of rebuilding the broken-down bandstand and getting ragged uniforms ready, they wear themselves out.
After being treated to Aunt Bee's hospitality and home cooking, Briscoe Darling decides he is going to marry her. He even resorts to kidnapping her. Andy comes up with a clever solution to the whole mess.
Gomer the House Guest (1963)

Gomer's boss Wally is getting just a bit fed with his constant chatting with customers while others are waiting to be served and suddenly, he finds himself out of a job. He asks Andy if he could sleep at the jail for a few nights but Andy has an even better idea: Gomer can stay at his house until he gets settled. Unfortunately, things don't go quite well.
Barney lets it slip that a top-secret shipment of gold will make its way through Mayberry on the way to Fort Knox. Everyone in town soon knows about the gold and welcomes it with a carnival-like reception.
A mistake by Opie's teacher causes him to get all A's on his report card. He finds out the truth, but everyone is so proud of him (he even receives a new bike) he can't figure out how to break the news without disappointing them all.

Barney's landlady evicts him and he has to move into the back room of the courthouse. When she withdraws all her money and decides to marry someone she just met, Barney suspects she is the victim of a con man.
A Date for Gomer (1963)

Thelma Lou refuses to go with Barney to the town's upcoming dance unless he gets her visiting cousin Mary Grace a date. Just when he and Barney are about to give up, Gomer appears.

Gomer makes a citizen's arrest of Barney for an illegal U-turn, the same violation Barney has ticketed him for, causing him to overreact and resign as deputy.

Barney organizes a rescue party when Andy and Helen become trapped in a cave after it collapses. Unbeknownst to Barney, the two have already escaped, but decide to go back into the cave to save him from becoming a laughingstock.

Ben Weaver complains to the Mayberry sheriff's office that merchandise has been disappearing from his department store. While Andy investigates, Barney decides to go undercover to catch the crook (s).
Andy's Vacation (1964)

Andy goes on vacation, leaving Barney and Gomer in charge of Mayberry. However, Andy cannot enjoy his rest as Barney and various townspeople interrupt his peace.
Andy Saves Gomer (1964)

Gomer believes that Andy has saved his life after Andy wakes him to put out a small fire at the filling station. Indebted, Gomer dedicates himself to repaying Andy in return.

To save money, Aunt Bee buys a side of beef from a discount butcher shop. When she gets it home, the freezer doesn't work right but she won't pay 'the man' from Mount Pilot to come and fix it.

Charlene Darling-Wash wants to perform a mountain ritual to divorce Dud Wash and marry Andy. When Barney discovers a way to counteract the ritual with another ritual, Andy decides to fight fire with fire.

Opie and his friends get involved in a scheme selling a worthless product called 'Miracle Salve.' Barney and Gomer disguise themselves and head to Mount Pilot to fool two salve cons into buying all their salve back.

Two fun-loving girls from Mount Pilot interrupt Andy and Barney, who are working late doing inventory. They end up in hot water when Helen and Thelma Lou see them with the other girls.
When Malcolm Merriweather returns to Mayberry, Andy hires him to help Aunt Bee with the housework so she can be a 'lady of leisure'. She goes from being overworked to feeling unneeded.
The Rumor (1964)

Barney sees Andy and Helen in the jewelry store sneaking a kiss and tells everyone they are engaged. Aunt Bee redecorates Andy's room for a bride and throws a big surprise party for them.
After Gomer mentions to Thelma Lou that Barney said he 'has her in his hip pocket,' she gets angry and starts dating Gomer.
Back to Nature (1964)

Andy, Barney, and Gomer take Opie and a couple of his friends on a camping trip. When Opie leaves early in the morning to pick berries, Barney and Gomer go looking for him but end up getting lost in the woods.

Gomer joins the Marines to test himself as a man. Andy drives him to the base and stays around for a while to see how it works out. When he finds out the Sergeant plans to get Gomer sent home, he tries to find a way to get the Sergeant on Gomer's side.
