At first the pacing's sluggish & the violence is toned down but that can't be helped. For a 1980 tv movie meant to draw in Rogers' fans this is pretty good. Story-wise you've got some unusual & surprising ideas in here. A chunky older hero w/ a bad knee certainly isn't common, nor is the female lead's backstory or actions. As an actor Rogers was clearly instructed not to overact so he often gives a flat line read, but for a stoic hero that's ok & Boxleitner's boyish charisma is a nice complement
