Of course it's obvious to say this, but Allen Ginsberg certainly had a way with words. What a guy and what a life. The film works well because it is told through the words of Ginsberg and his friends and family (so there's no annoying narration to get in the way of Ginsberg baring his soul).

Informative and emotionally affecting, but as a filmic work, it is merely adequate. There is nothing unique or interesting about the way the film is put together, but it is a passably good film on the strength of the poetry, photographs and interviews alone.
