Season 8 - Murasaki Wakako, a 26-year-old OL loves nothing more than delicious food and drink. Wakako's favorite thing to do for relaxation is to go off by herself after work and go to various places to eat and drink, even if she's never been there before. The moment Wakako is able to taste the pairing between the food she wants to eat and the perfect accompanying drink, the happy sound of "Pshuuu" leaves her lips. Now, then. Where shall we drink tonight?

Wakako Murazaki (Rina Takeda) is puzzled when she and Miisan (Kinuwo Yamada) have their fortune told by a co-worker at work and are told that they may have to fight⁉︎. On her way home from work, Wakako is drawn to a “Miyazaki Chicken Nanban” restaurant.

Here's to Showa Retro! (2025) - S8E2

Wakako (Rina Takeda) asks a depressed Chief Okada (Kohei Shiotsuka) why, and he says that his daughter told him he was old-fashioned for a certain reason. From there, the conversation turns to “Showa-isms”... Obsessed with the Showa era, Wakako finds a retro izakaya on her way home from work and stops by.

Gachi-Chinese and Machi-Chukka (2025) - S8E3

Wakako (Rina Takeda) gets her culinary spirit fired up by Miisan's (Kinuwo Yamada) homemade dish of pig's feet for lunch, and goes to a Chinese food restaurant in Ikebukuro. Next to the Chinese food court, she finds an authentic Chinese food court and enters.

Taste of Hokuriku in Tokyo (2025) - S8E4

Wakako (Rina Takeda) eats some sweets brought by Ito (Shinya Hasegawa) as a souvenir of Fukui, so she goes to Kagurazaka, where there is a restaurant specializing in Fukui specialties. She finds a restaurant converted from an old private house and tries to enter, but is first attracted by the “soy sauce katsudon” sign on the second floor of the building, which makes her hungry.

Smoke flavor (2025) - S8E5

When Wakako MURASAKI (Rina Takeda) is drawn by the smell of smoke in Mizonokuchi, which she visits for the first time on company business, she finds a restaurant district that resembles a Showa-era amusement park! Smoke rises from the shichirin (a charcoal brazier) outside the restaurant, and Wakako makes her way through the restaurant, which is so hazy that she cannot see what lies ahead. She is amazed at the menu with its excellent costuming!

Wakako (Rina Takeda) can't stop thinking about the delicious bread Miisan (Kinuwo Yamada) had for lunch. At night, though, she is drawn to a restaurant with red lanterns. ▼When I order yakitori and other dishes, for some reason I see the words “curry bread”!

On her way home from running errands for her company, Wakako (Rina Takeda) entered a restaurant that caught her eye and saw many bottles of sake. The restaurant had an unusual system: you could choose either all-you-can-drink or one drink at a time, and the gourmet food was left up to you. Wakako found a sake from Okunoto and tried it.

Pshooooo in the morning activity! (2025) - S8E8

Wakako (Rina Takeda) hears that Hasegawa (Takayuki Sakoi) has turned to morning activities and is making progress at work, so she decides to give it a try herself. ▼On a holiday morning, while strolling around Sugamo, she discovers a bar that is open in the morning. When I entered, the place was already lively with regulars. Wakako had a dish called “Aho Kitsune” along with beer and sake.

First time at Machi Sushi (2025) - S8E9

Wakako (Rina Takeda) wanders around Kiyosumi Shirakawa and Morishita, a fashionable downtown area. She suddenly sees a sushi restaurant and decides to experience her dream of drinking alone at a sushi restaurant for the first time. I was not sure what to order first, but following the example of other customers around me, I ordered sashimi of red clams and “ankimo ponzu”, a winter delicacy.

Wakako (Rina Takeda) goes sightseeing in Tokyo with her mother (Wakako Shimazaki), who has not been to Tokyo in a while. After taking a rickshaw ride in Asakusa and seeing a Yose theater, they go to a long-established Western-style restaurant. They share beef stew, beef fillet steak, and crab salad with a glass of wine. The mellow demi-glace flavor of the Western-style dishes is a hit with the guests.

Asian Food and Sake (2025) - S8E11

Wakako (Rina Takeda) is tired after a long day of simple work at the office. On her way home from work, she enters a Mongolian restaurant, attracted by the sign reading “Cuisine of the Steppe” and the illustration of a sheep at the entrance. Wakako ordered beer and Mongolian dumplings. She had a hard time deciding between baked and water dumplings, but decided to order baked dumplings.

Reward for White Grill (2025) - S8E12

On a Friday night after a break from work, Wakako (Rina Takeda) makes a reservation at an eel restaurant she has been looking forward to as a reward for herself. She is served “grilled eel” and other dishes with cold sake from Hokkaido. The eel was so soft and fluffy that it looked as if it would break if you lifted it up with chopsticks!
