TV-film combines two bizarre elements: a solar fire that destroys all mechanical devices and a plague that decimates mankind, turning corpses into ashes. A typical video plod-plot as a few survivors struggle to reach Malibu... only sf buffs will find the earthbound trek worth making. (John Stanley's Creature Features Movie Guide Strikes Again)

Thoroughly forgettable and unremarkable yet watchable enough apocalyptic film that has very little of note going for or against it. Very much shows that it is a TV movie in the 1970s. It's not necessarily something you'll regret watching but I expect it to be fading from my memory within the hour.

Not up its own ass aas far as most hippie-era apocalypse movies are, it has some genuinely eerie and touching moments.
