It's a corny romance movie that I'm sure will have at least mild success with its intended audience. Haines is desperately trying to elevate this material. But god damn, there are GREAT rom-coms out there, and this ain't it. I'm not really looking forward to seeing more and more romance movies joke/comment about consent. Consent is obviously important but these are romance movies without the romance.
