The film shows the dramatic story of a Pole who wants to become a Volksdeutsch at all costs. Franciszek Kłos is a navy police officer in a small town, zealously executing the occupant's orders. The pursuit of Polish conspirators persecutes Jews. Growing anxiety of conscience drowns out with alcohol.
