Forbidden Siren

Like the game, it knows how to build tension and atmosphere, and the plot is a mystery to be solved by piecing various clues together. Unlike the game however, it just isn't scary - the shibito here have a tendency to bumble around comically and are pathetically weak, to the point where an unarmed skinny Asian girl can knock one flat on its ass. Not to mention the idiotic twist at the end pretty much undermines the whole story. Honestly there isn't much value here even for fans of the series.

Most game adaptions are godawful but this one was fairly decent, with one really good hide/run segment really in the spirit of the game. It's a little slow to get going and then ends too fast but it builds up an amazing atmosphere in doing so and has a really great location, certainly worth a watch
