Amazing actors, terrific OST (original sound track: Bee Gees ), a lovely and original script... What else do you need to watch this movie? Worth watching!

For the most part, Melody's plot unfolds very slowly but it's so well made, from writing to acting to music, that I enjoyed every scene. The film refreshingly avoids many genre trappings along the way, dispensing even of the conflict-based story arc. However, an amusement park montage is featured, and the ending sequence is perhaps a little bit tacky.

Like Oliver! (1968)?, then you'll love those two (Twist and The Artful) from Oliver, who have now become irredeemably typecast, with a ton of 1970s South London nostalgia thrown in. [spoiler] In the third act, the tone shifts from a very sweet story of young love, to a surreal comedic caper which attempts to resolve 1960s free love ideology rebelling against conformity.
