My Darling is a Foreigner

On the surface, this is just a run-of-the-mill sugar-sweet rom-com, but as a language geek living in Japan married to a Japanese woman, this movie hit very close to home. I could laugh or nod knowingly at pretty much every joke or bit of drama in the film. So, viewed as an observational slice-of-life film about the difficulties of inter-cultural romance, it's actually quite good. Probably requires knowledge of Japanese to be enjoyable though, as most of the comedy is language-based.
