Hyoe Yamamoto's documentary about how, in 2011, Japanese optical company Olympus Corporation dismissed its president and CEO, British-born Michael Woodford over cultural differences in management style. A close-to-regular guy who found himself a puppet CEO in a corrupt multi-national corporation. He whistle-blows but capitalists acting like capitalists is a story only met with indifference by the financial press. I'm all for whistle-blowing but he seems so keen here to be seen as a hero it irks. Just can't see someone who -over misunderstanding the degree by which all capitalism resembles a confidence trick- risked so many jobs -and received an eight figure settlement for it- as one.
