The Great Gabbo

I was impressed with it for its age, I was disappointed in it for its lack of punch on a clever concept. Appreciated the dialogue both in writing and delivery as superior to say, Dracula, filmed two years later. I did not need a half hour devoted to the other acts though audiences back then might have approved of the added show. Otto is no Fats (from Magic) though he laid the groundwork. I've been singing, "Ha ha ha, I'm laughing," more than I sing the letter to daddy tune from Baby Jane so...

I watched this a long time ago but I remember really quite liking it. A lot of the film has aged poorly but in spite of that it never once lost my attention.
