The title sequence is a ballsy, horrifying, and sacrilegious mofo, so between that and its obscure star turns from Louis Koo and Anthony Wong, I had high hopes. These were quickly and violently dashed once it tried to have a plot. There is something about a doomsday cult, hypnotism, and some use of religious symbolism to try to say some heady Gnostic ideas about the End Times. But it soon becomes a poor-man's Silence of the Lambs and Fallen, with a maddening and pompous ending.
