Removing from Collection

Post by PeaceAnarchy »

It seems that when a film is removed from a collection it only gets partially removed. It's gone from the collection list but on the film page it's still listed as belonging to that collection. Moreover, it can't be added back if it was removed accidentally. This happens for both public, private and hidden collections.
See: Crash (1996) which was removed from the Imdb 250 collection
and I just tested it with Passing Fancy in a new collection I made silent greats

This is a known issue that will be rectified in the next couple days.

You're right about a film only being "partially" removed -- we do this so that a removed film can't then be added by someone else, later. The Film Info page isn't currently filtering out those "removed" films from collections, but will be soon.

Thanks for the note!

That seems like a reasonable idea, though it'd be nice if there were a way for moderators to re-add the films in case they remove them by mistake, or for lists that might change, like the DVD lists, it may make sense to remove a film and then add it back again. Maybe at the bottom of the list in the moderation page there could be a list of these removed films with a link to add them back.
