The stagecoaches on the line owned by Colonel Parker are being robbed and the drivers killed, so The Duchess sends for Red Ryder. Businessman Ernest Murphy and his gang of outlaws that include the whistling Chopin, gets hold of the letter that the Duchess wrote Red and hires the Idaho Kid to waylay him. But Red gets the drop on Idaho instead, and then poses as him and joins the gang. Murphy, realizing that Red isn't the man he hired, frames Red for stealing an ore shipment. (imdb)

The story has Red Ryder and his aunt, The Duchess, operating a stage line in the 1890's in Blue Springs. While not exact remakes, two 1945 westerns - Republic's Wagon Wheels Westward and Monogram's Springtime in Texas - are close enough to the plot of Universal's 1943 Cheyenne Roundup to be labeled next-of-kin versions. Republic's offering finds The Duchess and her nephew Red Ryder setting out to pioneer a new stagecoach line through the wild, rough country leading to Desert Springs, a small, isolated town. (imdb)

Deresco owner of a night club in neutral Portugal, works a free-lance spy for everybody who can afford his price. He tries to get information from US agent John Craig with help from immigrant dancer Maritza, but she falls in love with him. Craig becomes a special "guest" at Deresco's casino, but there you can't be sure of the occupation of everybody, as well as in their political intention.

In Elliot's initial appearance as Red Ryder, he finds himself framed for murder. Little Beaver then foils the crooked Sheriff's attempt to have Red killed excaping jail. When Hannah Rogers gives the Sheriff a note, Red sees her give him a signal. Gabby lifts the note and Red decodes it. The Duchess then gets a confession from Hannah enabling Red to set out after the outlaws.

Red Ryder tries to expose murderous crooks who are terrorizing ranchers into selling their land because they contain secret, oil rich deposits.

A radio detective sets out to solve an old murder case, with the help of her sound man and another radio detective. They manage to talk to the people involved in the case, but shortly afterwards the main suspects turn up dead.

Redwood Valley residents raise $50,000 for blasting a mountain tunnel to bring a new railroad there. Town leader Bidwell (James Craven) engineers a plot to steal the money and to blame it on the Reno Kid (Bob Steele) who has recently broken out of prison in order to clear himself of false charges that sent him there and caused him to lose his ranch. The badly-wounded sheriff turns his badge over to Red Ryder (Bill Elliott).

Red Ryder and Little Beaver return to Blue Springs and learn that the Duchess, Red's aunt, is going to sell her stagecoach line and marry a snooty Englishman Talbot Champneys, who is really Fancy Charlie, who has the nasty habit of marrying rich women and then killing them for their fortune. The concerned Red thinks everything is okay until he sees Champneys mistreating Red's horse, Thunder, and he then decides to investigate Champneys.

When the Sheriff of Las Vegas is killed in a bank holdup, Red Ryder is made the new Sheriff. His first problem arises when the Judge is shot and the Judge's son framed for the murder. Red knows the son is innocent from the type of bullet used and after hiding him from the lynch mob, sets a trap for the man he thinks is behind both the robbery and the murder.

Red Ryder and Little Beaver ride into a sleepy Arizona town, and are seen by Blackie Blake. Red and his young Indian pal go to the office of Marshal McGaw and Blake sneaks up to a window and is about to shoot Red from ambush, but "Thunder", Red's horse, bears down on him with pounding hoofs. The hostile townspeople gather and are bent upon carrying out the law that says a killer horse must be shot.

Jennings is after the Ryder freight lines. His gang robs their stage and then rustles the horses Red Ryder is delivering to the Army, When the Army Captain arrives he arrests Ryder for rustling his own horses.

Ne'er-do-well Joe Louden scandalizes his small town and especially the proper Judge Pike. But through the love of young Ariel Taber, Joe shows the town who the real scoundrel is.

After robbers kill owners Hartley and Goodrich, his daughter Judith and foreman Hayes struggle to keep their stage line running despite mounting debts from repeated attacks.
