The family has a long lost cousin who is to inherit a fortune and they try to hide this information, hoping to gain the inheritance for themselves, by taking her to the family vacation home in the mountains. Their guest, the actor, discovers their plot and tries to reveal the truth through an amazing recital of the Scrooge story in Dickens, The Christmas Carol. Annie (Ann Gillis), an orphan, (based on Howard Gray's comic strip but who is at no point in the film called 'Little Orphan Annie), is befriended by a fight manager, 'Pop' Corrigan (J. Margaret, furious with Henny for the blunder, fires him---but only temporarily. Another agent, Marty Allen, once married to and still in love with Margaret, signs Betty and Eileen. Henny arrives with Judy and Marian, and the nightclub manager asks Henny to emcee the show. He introduces the girls and they're a hit.
