The family has a long lost cousin who is to inherit a fortune and they try to hide this information, hoping to gain the inheritance for themselves, by taking her to the family vacation home in the mountains. Joan Winslow, a contract player who has never had a part, is picked to replace balky Brenda Lee in Marathon's monster musical of the year. Annie (Ann Gillis), an orphan, (based on Howard Gray's comic strip but who is at no point in the film called 'Little Orphan Annie), is befriended by a fight manager, 'Pop' Corrigan (J. Farrell MacDonald). She brings him Johnny Adams (Robert Kent), a promising prizefighter. Annie gets the people of the neighborhood to finance his training. Henny arrives with Judy and Marian, and the nightclub manager asks Henny to emcee the show. He introduces the girls and they're a hit.
