In this teen rom-com, high school senior Mandy Yang and her best friend Ben navigate prom season amidst extravagant 80s-themed Promposals. Focused on her dream of attending Harvard, Mandy is waitlisted and decides to seek help from her nemesis, popular jock Graham Lansing, whose senator father is a Harvard alum. As Mandy tutors Graham, she discovers he's more complex than she initially believed and starts to question if there's more to life than just Harvard.

In spite of prejudices impressed on them growing up, Lee (70s, Caucasian) and Ben (70s, African American) strike up a charming love affair over the course of an evening to discover love conquers all.
