Manon Alving

Anne is a successful theatre actress in Amsterdam, but her flamboyant lifestyle has left her almost bankrupt. Accountant Jacob is appointed to balance her books, and concludes that the only option is to sell her houseboat. Anne is distraught, and plans a farewell party to stall for time while she tries to find a job big enough to keep her home.
