Unnikrishnan (Prithviraj), an honest SI (Sub-Inspector) of Police, is in stark constrast to his elder brother Ramakrishnan (Mukesh). While the former is fearless and takes on any criminal without hesitation, the latter is known in the police circles as the "spineless policeman". When Unnikrishnan gets transferred to Ramakrishnan's police station as the SI, he takes on the corrupt local leaders, cops and hoodlums there, which results in consequences for the peaceful life of their family.
Shyam Balagopal (Prithviraj) has been kicked out from almost all colleges he attended, including the last one & his mom, who is a lecturer in an all-women college, attributes all that to the bad company he keeps. Desperate to change her son, she coaxes her principal to grant her son admission to her college. This comes as a shock to some of the female students of the college who vows to drive Shyam out of the college by hook or crook. A tug of war ensues between them and Shyam.
Solomon Joseph (Prithviraj), a corrupt & arrogant SI of Rajakkadu, Idukki, locks horns with ex-MLA Ummachan (Devan) over his younger brother Dennis's arrest & later Dennis dies in police custody by Solomon's hands. Solomon gets transferred to Badhiyadukka, Kasargod. In Badhiyadukka, Solomon alienates a local bigwig Arrackal Aboobecker Haji (Captain Raju) & he is attacked & left to die by his Haji's son Sharief. Solomon takes this incident to be a punishment for his past sins & becomes repentant.
During the college reunion of the class of 1991 Chemistry batch, one of the ex-students, Sukumaran aka Suku (Prithviraj), is found strangulated in his hostel room, & is taken to the hospital since he was still alive. Professor Iyer (Balachandra Menon), who organized the reunion, & Pius (Indrajith), Suku's best friend in college, together, reminisces the college days & tries to unravel the secrets behind what happened to Suku.
Josekutty (Prithviraj), an auto rickshaw driver & the sole support of a struggling family, agrees to marry a wealthy single mother of the Mekloth family, Nancy (Kaveri), mistaking her to be the girl he was secretly attracted to (Kavya Madhavan). His friend, Paappikunju (Harisree Asokan), also cook up a lie that Josekutty is the father of the child, to make his family agree to the marriage. However, Nancy commits suicide the day before the wedding, now Josekutty has to accept & rear the toddler.
As a young adult, Neil (Prithviraj) had an overbearing mother, Margaret (Sheela), who complained about Neil's carefree ways & worried about finding a groom for Neil's gimpy & introverted sister Rose (Geethu Mohandas). Neil had brought home a friend, Freddy Evans (Tom George), to be introduced to Rose, but learning that Freddy was already engaged, saddens Rose & over time, she became more withdrawn & loses her sanity. Later in life, as a successful but troubled writer, Neil reminisces all this.
The males from Hari's (Prithviraj) family have been the "Velichappadu" (oracle) of the village temple for generations, with his grandfather Narayanan Nair (Jagathi) being the latest. Narayanan Nair's son Madhavan (Murali) takes up the mantle after Narayanan Nair's death against the wishes of his family, especially Hari, who leaves the village. After Hari returns after 2 years, Madhavan is diagnosed with brain tumor & Hari is now faced with the burden of tradition, to be the next "Velichappadu".
The story begins with Anandan, who makes a maiden trip to his native village, Sivapuram. His purpose? To make good his promise to his recently deceased mother that he would dissolve her ashes in a river near Manthrikapura, a mystical garden, and light a lamp in Sivakavu, a strange and dark place in Sivapuram. However, as soon as he lands in Sivapuram, Anandan finds out that what he heard and what he sees are two different things.
Balachandran Adika (Prithviraj) leaves his cousin-girl friend Sumithra (Kavya Madhavan) to marry Surabhi (Samvrutha) under pressure from his family, to save them from debt. He gets a job in Trivandrum secretariat, after which he is drawn into its corrupt world, after advice from Unnithaan (Jagathi). He gets selected to the personal staff of the Revenue minister, after a recommendation by coworker Vimala Thankachi (Sindu Menon), after which he grows in politics, crushing everyone in his path.
Three hotel management students - Deepu (Kunchako Boban), Alex Chandy aka Kunjoonju (Prithviraj), Ashtamurthy (Jayasurya) - come to live as tenants at the Pondicherry Inn, run by two sisters Kamala (Meera Jasmine) & Padma (Bhavana) & their mother Sofie (Kalaranjini). All 3 guys fall for Kamala & tries to woo her. Ashtamurthy falls out of the race after Kamala ties a "rakhi" on him. Kunjoonju makes passes at Kamala which results in a fight with Deepu & Kamala evicts them all from Pondicherry Inn.

Krishnakumar aka Kichu (Prithviraj), a freshman, is brutally assaulted by his senior Sudhi (Bala), the youngest brother of the notorious Karimbanakattil brothers & his gang, after Sudhi takes offence to Kichu hanging out with Anjana Sivaraman (Priyamani), whom Sudhi had an eye on & whom Anjana's parents had agreed to marry off to Sudhi after college. Stalin Manimaran (Prakash Raj) arrests the prime suspect in the case, Muslim community leader & businessman Babu Sait (Lal), but who subsequently gets out on bail due to lack of evidence. While inside the jail, Sait had met an orphaned young man, Anwar (Prithviraj), whom he indoctrinates for jihad after getting out, & together they plan for further bomb blasts in Kochi & subsequently, Mumbai.
After Balu (Jayaram) & Soorya (Sheela) fall in love & get married, but are unable to start a life because of Balu being broke, Soorya decides to try her luck as an actress in a new film, while Balu pretends to be her makeup man, to be close to her. Mobsters Ayyappan (Kalabhavan Mani) & Fakir (Vinayakan) come in search of their childhood pal & ex-mobster Tony (Asif Ali), who was now living with his wife (Nithya Menon) & kid, to take him back to their boss Prakash Kamath (John Vijay), whom Tony & their 2 other pals - Geevarghese (Indrajith) & Benny (Rahman) - had tried to kill. However, they find Geevarghese & Benny there, holding them off. Tony convinces them all to pull off a final job to secure his family's future before going to Kamath.
Dharmarajan (Thalaivasal Vijay), a struggling stunt coordinator who gets some work from his old protege, director Adithyan (Anoop Menon), introduces his old pupil Tarzan Antony (Prithviraj Sukumaran) as a stunt man in the movie & Antony captures the fancy of the heroine, Gowri Menon (Yami Gautam), with his daring stunts. This doesn't bode well with the hero of the movie, Premanandh (Srikanth), who walks out of Adithyan's next movie. Adithyan takes up the challenge & casts Antony as the new hero.

Molly (Revathy), a naturalized American citizen living in Kerala was about to wind up her activities in Kerala & return to US when she gets a rude shock - a sizable tax bill from the govt. tax department. Her attempts to reverse the bill actually worsens the situation & she gets slapped with an even heftier bill. Vijay now has to fake a humane side to impress the do-gooder Pavithra, which included caring for Merin (Nandita Raj), a Malayali nurse whom Vijay had hit with his car. Anjali Arackal (Aparna Gopinath), a freelance journalist looking for a break, comes across C.K. Raghavan (Mammootty), a mild-mannered prisoner who had been in jail for 20 years for a double homicide, something which Raghavan denies committing. Anjali publishes his brilliant musings in an article which brings her fame & a book offer. As Raghavan is released, Anjali hides him away & tries to get him to write the material for the book. Raghavan, feeling trapped, experiences writer's block.
David Abraham IPS (Prithviraj), now on suspension, tries to help a group of youngsters - Shaan Shahar (Vinay Forrt), Abey (Tovino Thomas), Vinu Ramachandran (Anu Mohan), Cyril Samuel (Praveen Prem) & Jessy (Janani Iyer) - who were in trouble for losing a big sum of money belonging to a dreaded crime lord called Christopher Moriarti.
ACP Pouran (Prithviraj), who had been itching to prove himself in the police force, implicates 2 street performers - Jumper Thampi (Baburaj) & Cross-belt Mani (Vinod Chemban) - after mistaking Thampi for the international terrorist Khalid Qureshi (Baburaj). They get the death sentence, but when Pouran learns that they are innocent, he tries to save them, but soon learns that the political machinery has no interest in freeing them.

Varun Blake (Prithviraj), born & orphaned in India, but brought up in the US after being adopted, deals with a bad divorce with his now ex-wife Roshini (Bhavana), custody of his daughter, & serial homicides targeting Indian professionals. Facing off with him as a person of interest in the case was Krish Hebbar (Nivin Pauly), the driving force behind the software giant Infotec, where Roshini also works, & to complicate things, Roshini & Krish starts dating each other, to Varun's chagrin.
