Devasuram

'Paradesi' is the story of Valiyakaththu Moosa (Mohanlal), an Indian Muslim who moves from the Malabar region of Kerala, India to Karachi, Pakistan during the British Raj in search of a job. Post-partition, he returns back from Pakistan & settles down in Malappuram, Kerala. This man, who lives as a true Indian, doesn't get his Indian passport & thus an Indian identity, even after 50 years of Independence. The police harasses him & his friends in a similar situation as Pakistani spies.

During the college reunion of the class of 1991 Chemistry batch, one of the ex-students, Sukumaran aka Suku (Prithviraj), is found strangulated in his hostel room, & is taken to the hospital since he was still alive. Professor Iyer (Balachandra Menon), who organized the reunion, & Pius (Indrajith), Suku's best friend in college, together, reminisces the college days & tries to unravel the secrets behind what happened to Suku.
Gajarajamanthram
Sankarankutty (Premkumar), although coming from a long line of mahouts, considered it below his dignity to be one & leaves home when asked to go as a mahout to the Mullackal family. He meets debt-ridden Ananthapadmanaban aka Ananthu (Jagadish), whom he saves from suicide. Learning about the job, Ananthu shows up at Mullackal & takes the job, claiming to be Sankarankutty. When Sankarankutty finally shows up after a change of mind, he sees Ananthu as the mahout & vows to smoke him out of there.

Circumstances force Ramanujan aka Ram (Jayaram) to share a train coupe & subsequently his apartment, with Jyothi (Soundarya), posing as husband & wife, in Chennai. On the eve of Jyothi's marriage, the groom's family learns of this, leading to the wedding getting called off. Unable to bear the news, Jyothi's father (Nedumudi) gets hospitalized & he gets Jyothi forcibly married to Ram. An angry Jyothi, who assumes that Ram cheated her into this, gives Ram a cold shoulder, after their marriage.

International don Sagar alias Jacky (Mohanlal), comes to the rescue of his friend & Kerala Chief Minister's (Nedumudi Venu) daughter Indu (Shobana), after Goa-based gangsters Rosario brothers kidnap her squanderer husband Manu (Manoj K. Jayan), who was deep in debt to the Rosario brothers. Jacky forcibly frees Manu, sparking off a gang war with the coterie of Rosario (Sampath Raj) & Dubai-based Naina (Suman).

Padmanabhan Nair (Kalamandalam Kesavan), is the patriarch of the big joint family of Payyarath, where the old matrilinear system of inheritance is still practiced. Best pals Aravindan (Jayaram) & Chandu (Mukesh) run away to Pondicherry to hide out at pal Joy's (Sreenivasan) place after issues at home. There, they assist Joy's uncle Lasar (Jagathi) with painting work at the Marthandam palace, where Aravindan mistakes heiress Padmini (Meena) to be in love with him. Misunderstandings lead to her fixed wedding getting called off & Padmini holds Chandu responsible. Vowing to separate Chandu & Aravindan, Padmini decides to marry Aravindan, to get back at Chandu.
Summer in Bethlehem
Ravishankar (Jayaram) has been freeloading off rich orphaned farmer Dennis (Suresh Gopi) & lying to his folks about him being a rich farmer himself. A brutally raped young girl Zahira (Priyanka Nair) escapes the 2002 Gujarat riots, after her half-Keralite family is killed & ends up in Calicut, Kerala. In Calicut, prominent Muslims try to gain control of her & she runs away again. An elderly security guard, Gopalan (Thilakan) gives her shelter & a Hindu name, Radha, to hide her identity. But after Gopalan's Muslim neighbors discover her identity, Gopalan comes under fire for sheltering a Muslim girl & Zahira is moved to an orphanage.

Kilichundan Maambazham
Abdul Khader aka Abdu (Mohanlal) leaves for Dubai after things get heated up at home after his affair with Amina (Soundarya) of the Madappalli family becomes known to Amina's relatives & they bay for Abdu's blood. Upon return few years later however, he finds that Amina is married by Kolarackal Moidukutty Haji (Sreenivasan) as his 3rd wife & is about to be sent off to the village of Koonthalikadavu. Abdu follows Amina to Koonthalikadavu to get her back, but faces stiff opposition along the way.

P. Sukumaran (Mammootty), youth wing leader of a political party, spends all of his time & money for the party, frustrating long-suffering wife Valsala (Shantikrishna) who supported Sukumaran's outlays. However, when Sukumaran blocks a job transfer which Valsala had requested, she finally snaps & moves out with their kid & joins her new job. Soon after, Sukumaran gets elected as the new Industries Minister, but after getting sworn in, Sukumaran feels lonely without his wife & pines for her.

Honest ex-cop Shekhar Joseph (Lalu Alex) teams up with Sultan (Babu Antony), the leader of the head load workers of the Calicut market, to battle the evil coterie of millionaire businessman & underworld don Alexander (Devan), trade unionist Ummer Haji (V.K. Sriraman) & Commissioner of Police Ravishankar (Sathar), after they murder Shekar's wife & daughter. Alexander had plans to bulldoze the market as he claimed the land for himself, which Sultan & PWD Minister Kesavan Nair (Thilakan) opposed.

Chanthakkadu Vishwam (Mammootty), an ex-teacher turned moonshiner & gangster, tries to protect Asst. Commissioner of Police Chandradas (Murali), who gets ensnared in a murder allegation planned by Chandradas's father-in-law & criminal Kelu Writer (Thilakan), after Chandradas proves unsupportive of Writer's activities. Writer, who years ago had murdered Vishwam's father Kumaran (M.G. Soman) & for which Vishwam was jailed, had a personal rivalry with Vishwam, which pits them against each other.
Parvathi Parinayam
Lineman Sivankutty (Mukesh) falls in love with Parvathi (Annie), but her headstrong mother Subadra (Zeenath) opposes the relationship, citing the reason that her own husband, who used to be a lineman, had dumped her. Shortly afterwards, Subadra's husband Naryanankutty (Janardanan) returns after 18 years & fixes Parvathi's marriage to a junior engineer, while Subadra gives her word to give Parvathi to Aniyan Thampuran, the rich debauchee of the famed Illickal family, complicating things further.

Rich gangster Vijendra Mallayya (Mammootty) returns to the village of Chembattunadu, popularly known as "Chattambinadu" (land of goons), from where he had once run away as a teenager, falsely accused of a crime. This time he had bought the house belonging to Mallanchira family, much to the chagrin of their warring enemies, the Kaattappalli family, headed by Kaattapalli Nagendran (Siddique). Nagendran tries to drive Mallayya away, whilst Mallaya tries to break Nagendra's hegemony in the village.

Bharathan (Babu Antony), after his gangster father Vettukadan's (Narendra Prasad) death, returns to Chathan Colony where he is forced to step into his father's shoes & become a gangster himself. After assaulting a school master (Charu Haasan) by mistake, Bharathan repents & tries to turn over a new leaf, but his old foes - Velayudhan (Rajan P. Dev) & son Raghavan (Kollam Ajith), don't let go.

Karthiyayini (Sharbani Mukherji), born into an aristocratic Hindu Menon family, gets attracted to Maammootty (Prakash Bare), a Muslim merchant & elopes with him. However, when they meet Meera (Juhi Chawla), whom they first suspected to be Guptan's girlfriend, but who later turned out to be just a friend to Guptan, they also start competing to win her heart.

Aggressive loner cop Balram (Mammootty), a constant headache for the police department because of his fearless & outspoken nature, investigates the murder of jeweler Krishna Pillai (M.S. Thrippunithara), at the behest of his daughter Preethi (Urvashi), & finds the hands of international criminal & smuggler Sayed Mohammad Shah (Kiran Kumar) behind the crime, & political & police bigwigs complicit with it. Balram takes on Sayed & his empire, but it proves to be a tough challenge.

A group of old aged people come to a resort in Ooty called 'Love Land' for a month of fun & frolic. Two small time thieves & escaped convicts, Sathyaraj (Dileep) & Dharmaraj (Harisree Asokan), also follow suit, disguised as old men, looking for a place to hide out. But when the old men stumble upon a stash of automatic weapons, they are taken hostages by a terrorist group & Superintendent of Police Vijay Krishnan (Jayaram) is called to rescue them.

In between his misadventures, he meets Pauli (Ganapathi), a bright, but fractious 10th grade student who shunned studies. Pranchi takes Pauli under his wing & their interactions change Pranchi's perception of life.

Eeshwara Kurup (Janardanan) & a group of orphaned young men, including Balakrishnan (Jagadish), starts a mimicry troupe after their hotel gets shut down. Gopika Varma (Anusha), heiress of the Melepattu Kochukoyickal aristocratic family, joins their troupe as a singer, but with ulterior motives - to hide from the Naaluvettil Kurups who were after her ancestral mansion & to reunite with her long-gone father, who was none other than Kurup himself. Balakrishnan, enamored with Gopika, helps her out.
Carnivel
Bharathan (Mammootty), a small-time bookie, finds a job with the new carnival in town, after which their resident stuntman James (Babu Antony) sees his importance in the carnival diminish. Framing Bharathan in an assault charge, James & local SI Cyriac Koorikkadan (V.K. Sriraman), who was already Bharathan's foe, send him to jail. Inside the jail, Bharathan hears about his girlfriend Gauri's (Parvathi) death, & after he suspects Cyriac & James behind it, seeks revenge after getting out of jail.
Sukrutham
Journalist Ravishankar (Mammootty), diagnosed with terminal cancer, moves to his ancestral home to die in peace. There, seeing that he was sinking, Ravishankar reminisces about life & makes some decisions, which included for his wife Malini (Gautami) to marry their pal Rajendran (Manoj K. Jayan) after his death. However, in a twist of fate, Ravishankar is cured by a maverick doctor (Narendra Prasad) & returns back to life, but realizes with dismay that no one was ready to deal with him alive.
Vaisali
'Vaisali' is based on a sub-story told by Vedavyasa to King Yudhishtira in the epic 'Mahabharatha'. Vaisali, the daughter of a prostitute in the drought-stricken land of Chambapuri, is assigned a mission to seduce Rishyashrungan (Sanjay Mitra), the son of sage Vibhandakan (V.K. Sriraman) & bring him to Chambapuri to perform a ritual to cause rain.
Swapna Sanchari
Manikoth Ajayachandran Nair (Jayaram), having made his fortune in the Middle East, returns to his village & flaunts his wealth to gain social acceptance. But his business plans go wrong & he starts to financially crumble, which culminates in him breaking the promise of paying for his daughter Achu's (Anu Emmanuel) friend Lakshmi's surgery. Achu attempts suicide in ignominy & Ajayachandran leaves the village in disgrace. Years later, a now grown up Lakshmi (Meera Nandan) runs into Ajayachandran.
Venicile Vyapaari
SP Raghu Ramavarma (Janardanan) assigns police constable Pavithran (Mammootty) to a far-off village to solve the murder of union leader Ajayan (Biju Menon), to get Pavithran away from his daughter Lakshmi (Poonam Bajwa), who was in love with him. Pavithran poses as a merchant at the village, & later realizing that business was his true calling, leaves the police force. A born seller, Pavithran strikes big, but invites the ire of local bigwigs, the Chunkathara family, who plots to ruin Pavithran.
Kunjaliyan
Jayaraman (Jayasurya) loses his job in Dubai & returns home to Kerala posing as the winner of a 50 crore lottery, to much adulation of his family & friends, each of them wanting a cut. Jayaraman gets caught in a trap of a group of people wanting to get their hands on Jayaraman's village of Gopalapuram for a chemical factory, who use him as a pawn in their plans. Jayaraman fights back with the help of Meera (Ananya), a social activist, who had earlier seen through Jayaraman's lottery charade.
Kaattile Thadi Thevarude Aana
Frustrated by the intransigence of the honest Home Minister of Kerala, Venugopal (Jagathi Sreekumar), a criminal gang replaces Venugopal with a lookalike - a loudmouth dancer with a weakness for wine & women, Manikantan (Jagathi Sreekumar), to help them steal space technology from the government. While Manikantan stumbles through a series of follies in his newfound job, the real minister who escapes the gang's murder attempt, suffers away in a mental asylum.
Bombay March 12
Based on the 1993 Bombay bombings, the film portrays how an innocent young man, Shajahan (Unni Mukundan), is used as a pawn by the terrorists in the blasts, & how he becomes a fugitive later. Sanathanan (Mammootty), a Hindu priest who tries to save him, unwittingly leads the cops to Shajahan who kill him. Penitent, Sanathanan adopts Islam to save Shajahan's family by marrying his sister Abida (Roma). But bad luck follows Sanathanan as he is suspected of being a terrorist's accomplice & jailed.
Sankaranum Mohananum
Sankaran Nambiar (Jayasurya) dies on the day after his marriage due to snakebite, leaving a bereaved family behind. As his younger brother Mohanan (Jayasurya) tries to move on with life, he starts getting visions of Sankaran, trying to convince Mohanan that he hasn't died. Soon the visions become more frequent, & when Rajalakshmi (Meera Nandan), Sankaran's widow, decides to remarry, Sankaran's ghost urges Mohanan to stop the marriage, resulting in a series of attempts by Mohanan to foil it.
Vachanam
Ravi (Suresh Gopi), an educated young man, comes to a hermitage called 'Santhipuram' run by Vishnuji (Charu Haasan), to serve the poor & the needy, & his pal Gopan (Jayaram) follows suit as part of his research project. Ravi is charmed by Vishnuji, but Gopan gets suspicious about dubious activities going on in the place. Then one day Gopan witnesses Ravi being attacked by strangers & Ravi subsequently disappears. Ravi is suspected dead & Thomas Mathew (Thilakan), Crime Branch SP, investigates.
Mukhamudra
Ananthan Pillai (Thilakan) & Achuthan Pillai (Thilakan) are identical twins with the former a cop & the latter a thief. Ananthan witnesses a murder committed by Basheer (Ravindran), the spoiled son of businessman Sulaiman (V.K. Sriraman), which Ananthan refuses to back down from testifying in court. Sulaiman gets Ananthan killed, but Ananthan's & Achuthan's families pretend that it was actually Achuthan who got killed, & Achuthan dons the guise of Ananthan, to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Pulijanmam
Prakashan (Murali), a Hindu farmer who was also an activist, pens a play called 'Pulijanmam' (Tiger Life), based on a folklore of Kari (Murali), a martial arts expert from the lower caste who takes the form of a tiger. Prakashan is attracted to Shahanaz (Sindhu Menon), the Muslim actress of the play, but Hindu-Muslim riots break out during that time, & Prakashan gets blamed for disregarding communal boundaries. Unable to unite with Shahnaz & left alone, Prakashan's life takes the shades of Kari.
Simhasanam
Madhavan (Saikumar), the influential bigwig & father figure of the village of Chandragiri is killed by foes from his past who descends on the village. Madhavan's son, college student Arjun (Prithviraj), is forced to take up his father's mantle after Madhavan's death & seeks revenge for his father's death.

Thoma (Dileep), living under the shadow of his martinetish & miserly father Plapparambil Paulo (Saikumar), faces ridicule & rejection from everyone, including the girl of his dreams, Sreelakshmi (Namitha Pramod), because of his cleft lip & deformed voice. Paulo had a bad reputation in town because of his stinginess, & was finding it difficult to get his elder son married off. Thoma devises a scheme to make Paulo look generous & but it backfires & makes things worse for Paulo's reputation.

Luke John Prakash (Sekhar Menon) is an obese young man who has always been the object of ridicule since childhood. When his childhood sweetheart Ann Marie (Ann Augustine) returns to his life, he is smitten, but she dupes Luke into joining an Ayurveda weight-loss scam run by Rahul (Nivin Pauly), of which she too was a part of. When Luke learns the truth, he channels his anger by running for the Mayor of Kochi & wins. Later, Ann comes clean & provides testimony using which Luke takes down Rahul.
MLA Mani Patham Classum Gusthiyum
Political goon Manikandan aka Mani returns from jail after 8 years, after having taken the blame for a murder for politicians Vattakkadan Varkey (Vijayaraghavan) & Amir Hussain (Shammi Thilakan). Realizing that Varkey & Hussain had exploited him, Mani tries to start over, but is forced to enter the fray against Varkey after Varkey rapes his sister & she commits suicide. Taking advantage of an open MLA position, Mani ascends to power & takes on Varkey & Hussain.
Jeevan Mashai
Jeevan Mashai is the last in the line of a family of Ayurvedic physicians who run the 'Arogya Niketan' treatment center in the village. The gifted Jeevan, who does his treatment through 'Nadi pariksha' or pulse examination, can feel the pulse of people & diagnose their malady, its severity & its fatality. Simultaneously the subject of respect & anger, Mashai faces a skeptic in the form of allopathic doctor Pradyut (Vijayaraghavan) who is convinced that Mashai is a quack & is manipulating people.

Anjali Arackal (Aparna Gopinath), a freelance journalist looking for a break, comes across C.K. Raghavan (Mammootty), a mild-mannered prisoner who had been in jail for 20 years for a double homicide, something which Raghavan denies committing. Anjali publishes his brilliant musings in an article which brings her fame & a book offer. As Raghavan is released, Anjali hides him away & tries to get him to write the material for the book. Raghavan, feeling trapped, experiences writer's block.

A seasoned thief & conman (Mohanlal) arrives at the palace in the guise of an appraiser of jewels & antiques, with the intention of stealing the collection.

Kalyana Krishnan (Mukesh), a Brahmin, & Mary Nirmala (Annie), a Catholic, marries secretively with the help of their friends, but without the knowledge of their families. When the cat gets out of the bag, & Krishnan props up Nirmala as a Brahmin girl, Sivakami, to mitigate his family's anger. As Krishnan & Nirmala try to make everyone believe that she is a Brahmin, Krishnan's elder brother Ananthakrishnan (Harisree Asokan), angry at Krishnan for having married ahead of him, tries to expose them.

Shauri (Mammootty), a politically active young man, has to leave his Kuttanad village & run off after he kills one of the goons who were stirring up trouble in the village by pitting the Hindus & Christians against each other. Years later, Shauri returns in disguise only to find that his mother (Sukumari) & sister had committed suicide & the whole village was being oppressed by a rich outsider, Ponnu Chetty (Vijayakumar) who had settled down there. Shauri decides to stay & fight Chetty.

Kochu Kunju (Mammootty) of the Thachiledathu family, is forced to leave his lover Usha (Nandini) & marry rich heiress Ambika (Vani Viswanathan), in return for underwriting debts incurred by his father Vasukutty (Nedumudi Venu). Vasukutty commits suicide, leaving the family's burden on Kochu Kunju's shoulders.

However, their lives take a serious turn when a young girl known to them, Pathumma (Meenakshi), goes missing & later turns up dead after being sexually molested.

When he is spurned by the cops after he raises concerns about his brother's death, Madhavan tries to unravel the mystery himself.
