A gorgeous, stylish movie with some clever insight into the male gaze and how screwed up modern ideas of love and sex can be. Suffers from a few plot-related hiccoughs but overall a beautiful revival of bygone aesthetics.

This isn't quite the disaster it's made out to be- the visual style is remarkable and it deals with some interesting themes. The problem is it's very overplotted, with all sorts of tricky details and unnecessary bits of "shared universe" connections getting in the way of said themes and making the whole thing a bit of a slog to get through. Granted, I have only seen the theatrical version, which was heavily trimmed.
