"Somewhat overrated but an excellent film in the redeemed-bad-guy style of Unforgiven. Ed Harris and William Hurt steal the film as very nasty men, Mortensen is believable as the quiet man, some excellent direction from Cronenberg in his mature 'normal' style (ie - no mutants or mucus)."

This is not a cartoon for kids - sex and violence abound, in a very thought-provoking way. The first GITS looks to me to have been quite a major influence on the Matrix - this one is just plain breathtaking."

Adults might hate to think this is realistic, but it is."
