Get Rich or Die Tryin' (2005) - Rated 13 Aug 2007
Dude can't act. In fact, everyone but Terrance Howard gives a terrible performance in a real dog's breakfast of a film. Predictable and slow-paced.

A History of Violence (2005) - Rated 13 Aug 2007
Somewhat overrated but an excellent film in the redeemed-bad-guy style of Unforgiven. Ed Harris and William Hurt steal the film as very nasty men, Mortensen is believable as the quiet man, some excellent direction from Cronenberg in his mature 'normal' style (ie - no mutants or mucus).

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005) - Rated 13 Aug 2007
Surprisingly entertaining. Great performances by Downey and Kilmer and a lot of fun.

Stay (2005) - Rated 13 Aug 2007
A waste of time - one of those post-Memento 'is it all a dream?' type messes.

Domino (2005) - Rated 13 Aug 2007
A total dog's breakfast. I wanted to like this film, and it starts out decent enough, but collapses into a pile of steaming dog excrement somewhere around the second act - if it were possible to figure out where one scene starts and another ends. Truly awful, though it looks like the cast had fun making it. Extra points deducted for making Kiera Knightley look plain.

Green Street Hooligans (2005) - Rated 13 Aug 2007
Released in US as Hooligans, its a well-told tale, though predictable. Ejijah Wood leaves Middle Earth behind with an excellent performance. Gruesomely realistic violence ties together a rather touching tale of male friendship.

9 Songs (2004) - Rated 13 Aug 2007
Pointless and boring. I expect more from Michael Winterbottom. Even the concert footage seems to drag on, and the sex scenes are interesting for about 2 minutes. That makes the film about 84 minutes too long.

Wedding Crashers (2005) - Rated 13 Aug 2007
Another funny Vaughan/Wilson/Farrell flick. Has its moments - esp the Farrell cameo - but not as funny as Dodgeball or Old School. Much better than the execrable Starsky and Hutch though.

The Island (2005) - Rated 13 Aug 2007
Not as bad as I expected - a decent, quite intelligent sci-fi flick that only occasionally collapses into shoot-up fantasy. Plus, Scarlet Johannsen
