Deadpool (2016) - Rated 01 Mar 2016

It was very entertaining, more than any other super-hero movie. The first part of the movie was really brilliant, but the second, the one where they fight - that was a let down.

Her (2013) - Rated 01 Mar 2016

Ultimately, the couple of hours you spend watching Her won't just have you entertained for the duration of the film, but they will have you pondering your existence, your friendships, your relationships, and much more for some time.

Rosemary's Baby (1968) - Rated 01 Mar 2016

What makes this movie a winner (and I do recommend it) is the direction. Yes, it's an eerie tale and Polanski perfectly captures the paranoia of the story. Through truly deft camera work, you feel the shift in Farrow's character back and forth as she grapples with her situation of pregnancy, isolation and mental exhaustion.

Up (2009) - Rated 01 Mar 2016

It's a funny and sweet film filled with relatable characters, humourous quips and gorgeous animation. Full disclosure, this film definitely has some sad moments, particularly near the beginning and end. But don't let them get you too down, because the story that is ultimately being told is an uplifting and inspiring one filled with friendship, humour and adventure.

The Descendants (2011) - Rated 01 Mar 2016

If you were to describe a film about a husband and father dealing with his wife's impending death, chances are you wouldn't expect to use the words warm, funny and easy viewing. But that's exactly the hard-to-walk line Alexander Payne's The Descendants achieves.

Life as a House (2001) - Rated 01 Mar 2016

Everything about director Irwin Winkler's film, Life as a House, can be described as stunning. Between the gorgeous shots of the house overlooking the water where much of the action takes place, the brilliant performances of all the actors involved and Mark Andrus' beautiful story and writing style, every aspect of the film is completely captivating.

Lethal Weapon 3 (1992) - Rated 01 Mar 2016

The film rekindles a bygone era, of Pearl Jam, Nirvana, big hair, smooth criminals, rebellious yet duty-bound cops, and overly set up sitcom style scenes with slightly eye rolling humour.

Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015) - Rated 01 Mar 2016

There is an awful lot right with this movie. The characters are all pleasant and at least mildly fun to watch, the visuals blend different types of effects perfectly to make everything look detailed, real, and interesting, while the old themes and characters are respected without overshadowing any of the new ones.

The Burbs (1989) - Rated 01 Mar 2016

The 'Burbs certainly withstands the test of time with its various characters, most of which the audience can relate to in some degree. The movie doesn't have many timestamps in the dialogue that remind you of its age, with Tom Hanks delivering an impeccable performance as usual, truly making him the star.

The War of the Roses (1989) - Rated 01 Mar 2016

Watching this film for the second time, 25 years later, I am more convinced than before that labelling it a comedy was a colossal mistake; I laughed once. It is not funny. It is dark and sinister, especially when both main characters decide they could/would each kill the other to achieve their identical individual objectives: possession of the House; the Property.
