95 83% Across the Universe (2007) - Rated 14 Apr 2013
"For best results, alter your mind before and/or during this film... The psychedelic parts are what got me watching in the first place. I feel a connection to the anti-war movement during the Vietnam War, so I felt connected to the story. No, the songs are not as good as any original Beatles song, but they didn't do badly with any of the music. I wouldn't say I'd get the soundtrack, but I enjoy it when I'm actually watching the movie."

"Some of the acting wasn't too great, but it wasn't unbearable for me. The colorful scenery pleased my eyes and the story held my attention... I enjoyed it."
90 74% The Mist (2007) - Rated 14 Apr 2013
"This movie had me biting my nails the entire time. Aside from being a cool story on the surface, it was an incredible commentary on society. I was also pretty impressed with the actors."

"Funny film that dealt with a transgender character well. Very enjoyable romance."
69 22% Pariah (2011) - Rated 23 Sep 2012
"Hm. Good concept, but aside from drawing me in emotionally (which isn't hard to do), I found that it wasn't executed as well as it could have been."
94 81% Maurice (1987) - Rated 23 Sep 2012
"(This is my friend's analysis, so I don't want to take credit for it.) The theme of this film is word vs deed. Maurice and Clive's relationship was more about word, while Alec and Maurice was more about action. At the end of the movie, Clive seems like he may regret things that were not done when he was with Maurice. This film presents a question: "Things may not work out and we might regret the things we do, but is it worse than the doubt and regret felt over things left undone?""
