"Proteus (even though it all goes back to Hal) has a semblance to Alexa but the execution is so absurd that it's hard to imagine this was ever taken seriously. It mashes two films: the serious sci-fi and the out there visuals of the last 30 minutes. I prefer the Phase IV style bonkers visuals of the last act. Kudos to the production designer, cinematographer and sfx artists but this the timing and how scenes flow to another feels disjointed. Maybe this film was taken away from the films director."
